Standards
EN 12390–3, 12504-1; ASTM C42The Universal Cutting Machine has been developed to cut for preparing concrete, rock or natural stone, cores for compressive strengt test.
Special clamp assembly allows specimens to be held during cutting operation. The machine is supplied complete with “V shaped holder with fixing mechanism between Ø38mm to Ø110mm diameter specimens and a water circulation pump.
Cutting Blade and V shaped holder with fixing mechanism for Ø110mm to Ø160mm specimens should be ordered separately.
UTC-1020 Universal Cutting Machine is used for cutting process of compressive strength test samples to ensure the length-diameter ratio required according to the relevant test standards.
According to the relevant compressive strength test standards, in addition to the length to diameter ratio limits, tolerances regarding the flatness of the sample surfaces that will contact the pressure press loading plates and the perpendicularity of these surfaces to the sample axis must also be provided.
In order to ensure tolerances for the flatness of the potential load-bearing surfaces (the ends of the pressure test samples) and the perpendicularity of the end faces to the side faces, the samples must be subjected to an abrasion process with UTC-1040 or UTC-1060 type machines, following the cutting process performed with UTC-1020.
